Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It only takes a minute to sign up. Every now and then Steam loses connection and doesn't reconnected afterwards, I've tried waiting for hours at most. The only way to reconnect is to restart the Steam client as far as I know. When the connection drops during a multiplayer game, I'm instantly thrown out. When I have "no connection", I can browse Steam Store and Community pages for some reason, but can't join Steamworks multiplayer games.

Put a little stress on your router and nic like games do and things can go to hell. Browsing the internet requires very little performance from your NIC or router. Have you ever updated the firmware in your router? Do you have the newest NIC driver? I have seen many computers with issues like yours and I can not stress enough that just because you have internet after getting disconnected from Steam it does not mean it is not on your end.

I already had my router on the most up-to-date firmware, but I'm not sure what NIC driver I'm using, and don't remember which manufacturer it is it's a custom-built PCbut I already got my sights on getting a new computer anyway so I hope that will fix the issues. I previously attempted to change region to switzerland and other countries near mine italybut to no avail. I'll try that again though, thanks. I switched to France Paris and it went smooth, and the download accelerated to 4,3 mb it always accelerates slowly then it dropped. One curious thing is that the download STOPS for mins at the end it also did the other daysso I definetely think it's not connection related. I didn't install the optic fiber for a lot though.
